We’re excited to introduce a powerful new functionality designed to enhance participant agency in their learning journey. Participants can now drop from a program if it’s not meeting their needs and enroll in another program that better aligns with their goals.
Why This Matters
We understand that participants may wish to drop from a program for a variety of reasons, including:
Relevance & Expectations – The program content does not align with career goals or expectations.
Quality & Engagement – The structure, instructors, or materials may not be engaging or effective.
Level Mismatch – The program is either too basic or too advanced for the participant’s current role.
Time Constraints – Personal or professional commitments prevent completion.
Accidental Enrollment – The participant mistakenly enrolled or was required to take a different course.
Technical or Accessibility Issues – Platform difficulties or content accessibility challenges hinder participation.
Empowering participants to drop programs when necessary ensures they stay engaged and continue learning in a way that best suits their needs.
Key Features
Drop Program Button: Participants can now drop from an on-demand or scheduled program directly from the program tile on their Dashboard.
Share a Dropping Reason: To help us improve our program offerings, participants must select a reason for dropping from a multiple-choice list, including:
I don’t have enough time
It’s not what I expected or needed
The content isn’t engaging or useful
I’m having technical or accessibility issues
It’s too advanced for my needs
It’s not advanced enough for my needs
Accidental enrollment
Dropping Program Rules
Eligible Programs: Participants can drop from on-demand or scheduled programs.
Non-Droppable Programs: Participants cannot drop from leadership coaching or group coaching programs.
Confirmation Required: Participants must confirm their intent to drop and select a reason before completing the action.
Re-enrollment Flexibility: A participant can re-enroll in a previously dropped program as long as it remains available in their Learning Collection, license duration and the enrollment window is still open.
Flexibility for Organizations
This new functionality is enabled by default for all organizations and applies across all learning collections. Organizations that prefer not to utilize this feature can request to disable it at the learning collection level by contacting our Technical Support team at support@execonline.com.
